I am your Master Now!

I’ve been told I’m principal for the day! My first thought is, yay this is going to be fun! I first start the day by ordering one of my coworkers to go get me Starbucks. After I get my Starbucks I would walk around checking out classes and see how everything is going. Next I would announce on the loud speaker that we are having a football tournament at lunch. All of the kids would go bonkers and be so excited that the teachers would have to calm them down. Another thing I would do is tell all the teachers and students today is a free day with no homework and that they could do almost anything they want. As long as it’s safe and all. Last I would call up a donut shop and ask if I could get 2 donuts per kid and adult at the school. They said yes! It is the last period of school so me and my staff go around handing them out to each class. Overall the day would be pretty awesome.

Rad Reading – November

In November, I read the book Blended by Sharon M. Draper. Blended is a book about a half white, half black girl named Isabella whose parents are divorced and who loves the piano. Her best friend Imani was the victim of a hate crime and it really pissed Isabella off. Her goal is to make sure Imani feels safe with her and to figure out who did the hate crime.

I didn’t love the book but it wasn’t a bad book by any means. A couple reason I did like it though were because I enjoy books that are realistic, realistic books just suck me in for some reason. I also liked that they were trying to solve a big problem that still exists today, racism. Overall I would give the book a six out of ten considering It didn’t suck me in as much as other realistic books do.

My favorite character was Isabella. Isabella had many good character traits including kind, smart, loving, and loyal. The one that stuck out the most was how loyal she was to her best friend Imani. A quote to support this is on page 82 where the text states, “So there’s been tension between the two of you. ‘No. We’re friends!’” This shows that she is loyal to her friend because she is getting defensive when he accuses her of there being tension between them.

My favorite quote from the book is on page 119 when she wrote the poem, “I love my mom I love my dad I wish they loved each other.” I like this quote because it shows what she wants, and it also shows the problems she is going through. Overall, it was probably my favorite quote.
