It was July 21rst, and I woke up so excited for my 13th birthday party at the beach. Almost all of my friends were going. My dad and I went early to set up our stuff and my mom went to get the food. The fun started when my first few friends arrived, and we got in the water. My friends kept arriving and each one showing up made it more awesome. After about an hour we went to go eat then play football, it was impeccable. We ate Jersey Mike’s, sodas, and brownies for lunch, everyone loved them. We went back in the crystal water then played football. After a while, everyone slowly started to leave one by one. I got a bunch of money and gift cards for my birthday presents. Overall it was a blast and probably my favorite birthday party I have ever had.

In September I read the book, Refugee by Alan Gratz. This is a historical fiction book about a Jewish boy named Josef who lives in Germany during World War II. His father gets taken into a concentration camp for disobeying the Natzis. They later meet up with his father who is a different person when they find him. They take the St. Louis to seek refuge in Cuba but after being denied they go up the American cost to try and find somewhere they can go to get away from the Natzi’s.

I liked the book at first but it wasn’t anything crazy until I got sucked into it. The book was so awesome with all of the events and the suspense it builds. I also loved how detailed it was and how unpredictable it was. Alan Gratz is one of my favorite authors ever because I love historical fiction, and his historical fiction books are so good.

Josef was my favorite character, the reason for that is he took care of his family when they needed it most. He was also very kind and did his best to help his family. One of his biggest and best personal traits was how he was always so brave. I can prove the with the quote on page 4, “He struggled in the men’s arms, trying to break free. I’ll be a man soon enough, Josef told them. I’ll be a man in six months and eleven days. This proves he is brave because he is standing up to the nazis to protect his family.

My favorite quote from the book was on page 170. “Someone yelled, Man overboard! and the ships siren shrieked. Josef’s father had jumped into the sea.” The reason I loved this quote was because even though it isn’t the best for the characters, I feel like that’s when the book really shifted moods in the characters and was just overall a very important part of the story.

I would love to live in the universe of Marvel. It would be so awesome to go in the world of Marvel and have your own unique super power along with being friends with all the super hero’s like, Iron Man, The Hulk, Dr Strange, Spider Man, and all of the other ones. My super power would be to freeze time, basically, everyone and everything freezes, except yourself. You can also unfreeze certain people that you want to, it also allows you to go back in time, and undo anything that you want to. Just like the other super hero’s, I would also be rich, I would have a super car that can fly, and a really big house. I would also have a custom suit made by the best scientists and engineers in the would to make me a water bender. Wouldn’t you like to live in the Marvel universe?

The thought of my favorite meal makes my mouth water. My favorite food are these things called kolaches. Kolaches are these soft doughy things of bread that have breakfast items inside of it like eggs, ham, chicken, cheese, etc. You can get these at a place called kolache factory. I get the chicken enchilada one, but they have so many flavors! Some of the flavors include eggs and ham, chicken enchilada, ranchero, ham and gravy, etc. I would get this with a cinnamon roll for desert/side dish, and the drink would be a coke. What even makes kolaches more perfect is when you eat them on a Saturday morning while watching a new YouTube video.

If I could design my own dream house it would be a modern house in the suburbs. It would be near the beach with my own private bay that has a yacht and jet skis. It would look exactly like what you would picture a modern house looking like. It would be white concrete and would light up at night. There would be a really big backyard with fake, lush, green grass that would lead into the bay. Inside the house would have a game room with every pc and console imaginable. The house would have 6 bedrooms for guests, a really big modern kitchen, and 9 bathrooms, 1 for each bedroom and 3 in hallways. There would be 4 stories in the house, a basement and 3 stories above ground. It would come with 3 maids, 2 butlers, and 2 private chefs. There would also be a giant game room with pool tables, and ping pong tables for playing cards, board games and other games. There would be a living room with a comfortable couch on each floor. The house will also have a movie theater with recliners. Last of all, there would be a full-size basketball and tennis court. It would be so awesome to live in a house like that.

If I could go travel anywhere on planet Earth it would be Maui, Hawaii. One of the reasons I would go there is to jump off of black rock. Ever since my friend went there and told me about it I have wanted to go ever since. Another thing I would love to do is go on hikes and see waterfalls. I would do this because when I went to Kauai, Hawaii, I went on a hike and went to a 60 foot waterfall and it was amazing. One last thing I would really want to do would be swim at the beach in the tropical waters. This is because when I went to Kauai, Hawaii, I didn’t go to the beach that much, and I really wanted to go more. I would also want to stay in a presidential suite with all of my friends. Of course it would have to wait a while because of all of the sad fires.
